At Oryx Desert Salt (PTY) Ltd (referred to as Oryx Desert Salt in this document) we aim to get your order to you as fast as possible.  Here’s what you need to know about our ordering and delivery process:

Delivery in South Africa

Oryx Desert Salt delivers to most urban areas in South Africa.  All orders are processed and fulfilled within 1-3 business days after payment is received. You will receive a confirmation email once your order has been packed and is ready for shipment.

Please note that courier companies do not deliver to P.O. Boxes or the post office, so it is your responsibility to complete your address details as per the form on our website. The fields to complete include your contact name, cell phone number, email address, street number, street name, complex or apartment name, unit number, city or town, province and postal code.

An important note:  Oryx Desert Salt cannot refund an order delivered to an address that was entered incorrectly. It is your sole responsibility to ensure that the address details are accurate.

 

Shipping Times

Once your order has been collected by our courier partners, delivery typically takes 2–5 business days, depending on your location. As our couriers are a 3rd-party service, we cannot guarantee delivery times. Delivery to more remote locations or areas regarded as a security risk by the courier companies may be rejected. In this case, we will email you to let you know and a full refund will be given.

Shipping Notifications

You’ll receive tracking details via email as soon as your order has been dispatched, so you can follow it every step of the way.

Delivery Services, Delivery Timelines and Delivery Rates

Delivery rates are available on our website.

Business days do not include Saturday, Sunday or public holidays. Timelines are calculated from the day of order. For the purpose of tracking delivery timelines, the date of order shall be counted as day 1 for orders placed before 14h00 SA time on business days. If an order is placed on a non-business day, the next business day shall be the start of the timeline period. For orders placed after 14h00, the next business day shall be counted as day 1.

To give you a practical idea of delivery timelines, orders will generally arrive 1 or 2 working days after dispatch in the Cape Town area and surrounding suburbs, 3 or 4 working days for other metro areas in SA and 4 or 5 working days for towns further away from major metro areas.

Important Conditions of Delivery

  • Our couriers deliver only during normal working hours so please ensure a person will be home during working hours to receive your parcel.
  • If there is nobody at your home address during normal working hours, please use your work address.

 

Orders Lost en Route

Occasionally, orders go missing while in transit. If this happens, and your order is not delivered on time, please contact us and Oryx Desert Salt will investigate with the courier company. We will handle the matter completely and you will not need to be involved.
